We used to be the Singapore Philatelic Museum, and we will be opening as Singapore’s first ever museum dedicated for children. Our museum will be a ‘starter museum’ to cultivate a love for museums and lifelong learning. Our aim is to inspire every child to be an engaged, adaptive and responsible global citizen. Through immersive environments, interactive programming, exciting themes and diverse objects, children can widen their horizons and appreciate our country and world around them in fun and multisensory ways that encourage exploration and imagination. Children can experience the museum through play, interacting with the exhibits, and engaging with others. Children will develop life skills, including social and emotional skills, motor skills, aesthetics and creative expression, and language and literacy.

Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall

Restored to its original neo-classical 1905 structure, Victoria Theatre & Victoria Concert Hall is one of Singapore’s oldest performing arts venues. First established in 1862, the Victoria Theatre & Victoria Concert Hall is one of the most recognisable landmarks in Singapore. The heritage building located in the heart of the city’s Civic District contains a 614-seat Theatre and a 673-seat Concert Hall. In 2010, the national monument underwent a four-year refurbishment to restore its neo-classical façade while getting new state-of-the-art facilities and amenities. The redevelopment also saw the addition of two smaller rooms for music, dance and theatre rehearsals. Having played a role in the country’s history for over 150 years, the Victoria Theatre & Victoria Concert Hall continues to be an exciting mid-sized platform, supporting the growth of Singapore’s arts industry.

Former Ford Factory

The Ford Motor Company which was first established in Singapore at Anson Road in 1926, moved to its new state-of-the-art factory located at Upper Bukit Timah Road in October 1941. The Art Deco factory became Ford’s first motorcar assembly plant in Southeast Asia. The factory was later taken over by the Royal Air Force during the Malayan Campaign (8 December 1941 – 31 January 1942) where it was used to assemble fighter planes. However, the planes were hastily moved away from Singapore towards the end of January 1942, when it became clear that victory was unlikely. The Former Ford Factory was restored by the National Archives of Singapore and currently houses a permanent World War II exhibition on the war and its legacies.
