About
The Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum strives to be a leader in Southeast Asian biodiversity – in research, education and outreach. A seven-storey green building providing 8,500 square metres of space, the museum is home to over 560,000 catalogued lots and over a million specimens from throughout the region. Apart from the natural history collections, adorning the building and its surroundings are landscaped areas simulating natural habitats of native plants as well as a phylogenetic garden.

Former Ford Factory

The Ford Motor Company which was first established in Singapore at Anson Road in 1926, moved to its new state-of-the-art factory located at Upper Bukit Timah Road in October 1941. The Art Deco factory became Ford’s first motorcar assembly plant in Southeast Asia. The factory was later taken over by the Royal Air Force during the Malayan Campaign (8 December 1941 – 31 January 1942) where it was used to assemble fighter planes. However, the planes were hastily moved away from Singapore towards the end of January 1942, when it became clear that victory was unlikely. The Former Ford Factory was restored by the National Archives of Singapore and currently houses a permanent World War II exhibition on the war and its legacies.

Restored to its original neo-classical 1905 structure, Victoria Theatre & Victoria Concert Hall is one of Singapore’s oldest performing arts venues. First established in 1862, the Victoria Theatre & Victoria Concert Hall is one of the most recognisable landmarks in Singapore. The heritage building located in the heart of the city’s Civic District contains a 614-seat Theatre and a 673-seat Concert Hall. In 2010, the national monument underwent a four-year refurbishment to restore its neo-classical façade while getting new state-of-the-art facilities and amenities.
